Celtic vs Bayern Munich live score: Latest goal updates from Champions League clash

CELTIC take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Hoops Brend Rodgers felt his side weren’t at their best during the 3-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena and they desperately need a win to get their campaign back on track.

It was always going to be a big struggle to get out of a group with Bayern and PSG, but Rodgers knows that he has to record a win over one of them to stand any chance.

Kick-off 7.45pm.

Mourinho is like Mayweather – Neville
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is similar to boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. with his tactics, according to Gary Neville. Mourinho was criticised after a dull 0-0 draw at Liverpool earlier this month, but a 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Saturday kept his team second in the Premier League. Neville, a United great who won eight league titles with the club, said the Portuguese tactician could be compared to Mayweather, whose detractors question his defensive style despite the boxer's 50-0 record. "[Tottenham's] Mauricio Pochettino and [Liverpool's] Jurgen Klopp have got wonderful reputations for being attacking coaches," Neville said on Sky Sports. "But Mourinho is a little bit like Mayweather at times. Mayweather is called boring at times, where he uses defence as a weapon, let's people punch themselves out. "Jurgen Klopp in that game a few weeks ago didn't feel he could fully go for it, because he felt, 'He's going to do me, I don't want to get done by a Mourinho masterclass'. And I think Tottenham lacked the belief to go for it on Saturday. "I think he gets into [their] heads, and has them thinking, 'I can't get done on the counter-attack here, he'll do me'. And that's a great coach, to think he can have other coaches spoiling their tactics. So in some ways I think he does deserve more respect, his record is unbelievable." United are five points adrift of rivals Manchester City, who are flying atop the Premier League after nine wins from 10 matches – a run that has included scoring 35 goals. Neville feels the form of Pep Guardiola's side, and United's history of playing entertaining football, are working against Mourinho. "His two problems are emotional: Manchester United's history and Pep Guardiola's football," he said. "They're causing him a bit of a problem, but it's perception."

Celtic tie whizzkid Kieran Tierney to six-year deal after interest from Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool

KIERAN TIERNEY has signed a new six-year Celtic contract despite interest from Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Scotland left-back, 20, has been tipped for super-stardom by Hoops chief Brendan Rodgers and has admitted he is uncertain where his future lies ultimately.

But for now the childhood Celtic fan has backed up his regular words – that he is happy to stay with the SPL champions for a long time – by extending his current deal.

Kierney, a first-time regular since 2015, has also played in the centre of defence at international level.

And he hit the opener in a 3-0 with for leaders Celtic as they won 3-0 at nearest challengers Aberdeen last Wednesday.

New interim Scotland boss Malky Mackay has also named Tierney in his first squad, for the friendly against Holland at Pittodrie on November 9.

In fact, Kierney’s international debut, aged 18 against Denmark, made his Scotland’s youngest starter since Willie Henderson in 1963.

And Rodgers took just one training session after arriving as Celtic manager in May 2016 to offer Tierney a better contract.

The former Liverpool chief was then reported in the Daily Record  as saying: “I saw in the first two days I was in charge that Kieran Tierney will be a top player,

“I can tell you that I know from my experience of working in England in the middle section and at the top end of the league, that this kid will be a top player. For sure. Absolutely 100 per cent he will be.”

Tierney himself revealed that his friends were “winding me up” by sending him screenshots of storing linking him to Premier League big guns.

But he said then – and has repeated since – that he is happy to stay at Celtic Park for a long time yet.

And now he has proved it by signing until 2023.

Guardiola wants more from 'special' Sane
Manchester City star Leroy Sane is a special talent but has a "big, big gap" to improve, manager Pep Guardiola said. Sane scored once and set up another as City continued their fine form with a 3-2 win over West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday. The Germany international has an incredible six goals and five assists in 10 league games this season. But Guardiola said the 21-year-old, and Raheem Sterling, still had a long way to go. "Sane is a guy with a special talent and he scored a fantastic goal but always I say to him and Raz – again, another goal – they still have a big, big gap to improve," the Spaniard said. "I would like to tell them to be calm. Scoring goals is so important, playing well is so important, but still they can do better, I have no doubt about that. "They are so young and we will take that opportunity to work with them and maybe we can help them." The unbeaten run continues!!! We're takin' another 3 points back to Manchester. #inSanĂ© #LS19 #WBAMCI @mancity pic.twitter.com/iC304rOcPm — Leroy SanĂ© (@LeroySane19) October 28, 2017 Sane's form has helped City to nine wins from 10 league games, and a five-point advantage atop the table. Guardiola said it was the basics that still needed work for both Sane and Sterling. "When he has the ball, don't lose the ball. I don't ask him to dribble, I don't ask him to make good passes, or ask him to do good shots. It is the simple things," he said. "In both of them, they have this important thing to do."

Liverpool vs Huddersfield: David Wagner aims to wreck his best pal Jurgen Klopp’s weekend

DAVID WAGNER aims to wreck his best pal’s weekend  — but it will not be the first time they have gone to war over Players.

Wagner takes his Huddersfield heroes to Anfield tomorrow seeking a second prize scalp on the bounce after stunning Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp and David Wagner are close pals from their time in GermanyJurgen Klopp and David Wagner are close pals from their time in GermanyGetty Images Wagner was Klopp’s understudy at Borussia DortmundGetty - Contributor

It sees him lock horns with  Jurgen Klopp, his team-mate at Mainz over 25 years ago and the man he worked alongside for four seasons at Borussia Dortmund.

The two became huge friends in their time sharing a room on away trips — although it did lead to their one big disagreement.

Liverpool boss Klopp, 50, loved to relax with an Embassy, a Players No 6 or a Benson & Hedges and, as a non-smoker, that caused problems for Wagner.

The Huddersfield chief revealed: “He was pretty quiet, because he had a child, so he liked to sleep, like I did, but unfortunately he was a smoker.

Wagners Terriers beat Manchester United in their last Prem outingRex Features

“That was not easy at the beginning, so I convinced him that he was only allowed to smoke in the toilet and not in the room.

“It was more or less the biggest discussion we had  and he followed what I said!

IKE SPIKED Liverpool and Newcastle set to launch raid for Porto’s Spanish legend Iker Casilla

“It was perfect because he more or less had the same rhythm that I had as a person. We were hungry at the same time, we were thirsty at the same time and we went to bed and stood up at the same time.”

The two are such buddies that Wagner was best man at Klopp’s wedding, while the Kop gaffer is godfather to David’s daughter Lynn.

Many thought Wagner would follow his mate to Merseyside when he replaced Brendan Rodgers in 2015.

But by then he had already decided he wanted his next managerial role to be as a No 1 in his own right, which led to last year’s sensational promotion.

Yet this weekend’s showdown will not be the first time the two amigos have gone head to head.

Liverpool were routed 4-1 by Tottenham after a miserable performanceRex Features

When Klopp was a full-back at Mainz, Wagner was a left winger with Gutersloh who was going through  a goal drought.

That all changed with a hat-trick that still brings a grimace to the Liverpool manager’s face — and a smile to his old mucker’s.

Wagner, 46, joked: “I was a striker who wasn’t scoring goals, so of course I remember! But he had done everything right — it was only my quality!”

(function(){ var voice = document.createElement('script');voice.type = 'text/javascript'; voice.src = 'https://inconversation.net/widgets.js';var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(voice, s); })();

So did that particular day get a mention when he stood up as best man? He added: “Usually in a speech, you only talk about the nice memories of the man, not the worst ones!

“I have known my wife for more than 25 years and known Jurgen longer, so it is more than a friendship — it’s more like a family.

“Now he is the manager of Liverpool, I’m manager of Huddersfield and we’re playing in a Premier League game at Anfield. It’s a great story.”

Balotelli rues Neymar absence for PSG v Nice

Mario Balotelli is disappointed he will not have the chance to go head-to-head with Neymar when Paris Saint-Germain host Nice in Ligue 1 on Friday.

Nice have endured a poor start to the Ligue 1 campaign and are aiming to break a run of three consecutive top-flight defeats at Parc des Princes.

Unai Emery's league leaders will be without Neymar after the Brazil international was sent off during last weekend's heated 2-2 draw at Marseille.

Balotelli has been in impressive goalscoring form this term, with eight in 11 appearances across all competitions, and the enigmatic Italian striker is not giving up hope that his team-mates can spring a surprise.

"Of course it's possible [to win at PSG]," he told Nice Martin. "It's difficult but feasible.

"I wanted to play against Neymar, personally. I wish he were in the game."

Mainz vs Eintracht Frankfurt Tips

The main bet will be Both Teams to Score YES at the odds of 1.92.

If you chasing high reward, you can go for Both Teams to Score in both halves at the odds of 18.00.

Benfica vs Feirense Tips

The stand-out bet is Benfica to win to nil at the odds of 1.66, while you can also back their predator in the final third, Jonas, to score anytime at 1.53 odds.

The Brazilian forward already has 11 goals to his name in Primeira Liga and he should be able to add to this impressive tally in the home fixture with Feirense.

Sydney FC vs Perth Glory (Prediction)

Sydney looked like the better team in early days of the new season. They will be confident of a positive result on their own backyard on Friday. But Graham Arnold must fix the holes in the defense.

Perth bagged their first win of the season last week and they do have similar problems like Sydney at the back. But I have little doubt on this team’s attacking capability.

However, Sydney’s overall home record against Perth is too good and this must not be overlooked. On top of that, I have doubts about Glory’s credentials as an away side. They are without a win this season and managed just 3 wins on the road last season.

It would be a good punt to back Sydney to win with both teams scoring for 2.80 odds.

Manchester City´s Gundogan feared injury after cramp attack

Ilkay Gundogan has allayed fears over another injury blow after revealing he was suffering from cramp during the closing stages of Manchester City's EFL Cup clash with Wolves.

The Germany international suffered a minor setback during a 2-1 win at West Brom in the EFL Cup third round this term and has been limited to substitute cameos in the Premier League and Champions League.

"The last 10 minutes were really tough for me,” he told City's official website. "Fortunately, it doesn’t look that bad. I don't think I've pulled something.

"It feels like coming from zero to a hundred - 110 minutes I could handle in a very good way, but the last 10 minutes, my legs were cramping everywhere, especially in the groin."

Girona vs Levante (Prediction)

Girona will come into this in a much better mood and when we add the home court advantage in the first leg, we have to go with the hosts to win at the evens odds (2.00).

Lleida Esportiu vs Real Sociedad (Prediction)

Sacristian will likely use the fixture with Lleida to mix up his lineup a bit. The hosts might well be able to take advantage of it and back up the tremendous attacking performance from the league outing.

We’ll be brave and back both teams to score at the odds of 19/20 here.

Borussia Dortmund's Shinji Kawagwa is the latest player to sign up for Juan Mata's Common Goal charity initiative.

The Japan star, a former team-mate of Mata at Manchester United, is the 18th footballer to join the pledge to donate one per cent of his salary to a charitable fund.

"Football has given me so many opportunities in life and now I want to play my role in supporting others through the game," Kagawa said in a video posted on social media.

"Common Goal is quickly growing around the world and I'm proud to help lead the movement forward in Japan.

"I've been fortunate enough to have football lead me all over the world... If there's one constant I've witnessed throughout the journey, it has to be passion.

Fans protest during Holocaust tribute at Serie A matches

Some Juventus fans turned their backs and sang the Italian national anthem during a minute's silence to remember the Holocaust before the Serie A game against SPAL.

At most stadiums the minute's silence turned into applause.

But some fans at Roma-Crotone drowned out the reading with team chants.

On Sunday at Rome's Olympic Stadium a section of Lazio fans known as the "ultras" - known for their racist chants and often violent behaviour - left stickers of Holocaust victim Frank in a Roma jersey alongside anti-Semitic slogans such as "Roma fans are Jews".

Italian president Sergio Mattarella called the case "alarming" and Italian police have opened an investigation.

On Wednesday, Lazio players warmed up for their 2-1 win at Bologna in jerseys with an image of Frank and the words "No to anti-Semitism".
