Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho snoozes on way into training… but youngsters raring to go ahead of Sevilla clash

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho looked like the stress of the job was getting to him on Monday morning.

The Portuguese boss, 55, has been under a lot of pressure in the past few weeks, losing 1-0 to Newcastle, falling out with Paul Pogba and then battling past Huddersfield in the FA Cup.

And Mourinho took a little nap as he was driven to Carrington for Monday morning’s training sesssion ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Sevilla.

One issue Mourinho will need to consider is whether or not to include Pogba, after he missed the last game out through illness.

When quizzed over the Frenchman’s absence as he missed the 2-0 win over Huddersfield, Mourinho snapped: “I don’t know and I honestly don’t care.

“I will think about him after the match.”

After the game, Mourinho revealed: “Yesterday he was working normally with us.

“We prepared for the game and told the players the team. He was in it.”

Mourinho accused Pogba of being “too casual” and “too careless” after substituting him a minute after Matt Ritchie scored the Newcastle winner last week.

However, the news of Pogba’s “illness” came on the back of a reported rift with Mourinho, as the £89million man was hauled off in consecutive games.

After the Toon loss, a Newcastle insider said: “Mourinho was furious — everybody could hear him shouting at Pogba and Jones.

“He obviously thinks they should do better but the pressure is getting to them.”

Meanwhile, United legend Paul Scholes told BT Sport: “Pogba’s form the last few weeks has not been good. He’s at a big club and you get pressure every week.

“Pogba should be the star so there will be pressure and criticism if he doesn’t perform.”

Elsewhere on Monday, stars including Marcos Rojo, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay were spotted driving into training.

The group arrived fresh from a 2-0 win over Huddersfield – thanks to a Romelu Lukaku double – as they reached the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Now United will turn their attention to looking to earn a place in the Champions League last-eight, starting with their first-leg clash in Spain.
