SERGIO AGUERO’S dad has refused to rule out his son moving to Barcelona.

The Manchester City striker is currently sidelined with a knee injury and is receiving treatment in the Catalan city as he ensures he is fit to return in time for the World Cup.

Leonel del Castillo was giving an update on his son’s condition to the local press in Argentina, and he was asked about the possibility of Aguero playing alongside Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

He told Ole: “It is possible that a lot of players will change clubs.”

Aguero, 29, joined City in the summer of 2011 and has gone onto become one of the best players in the club’s history.

As well as scoring the goal which clinched the club’s first title for 44 years on the final day of the season, he has won numerous other trophies and helped establish them as a European powerhouse.

However, despite finally being named in a PFA Team of the Year, Aguero faces serious competition to be Pep Guardiola‘s No 1 striker next season.

Gabriel Jesus has emerged as a firm favourite of the Spaniard and, at just 21, is likely to be No 1 next season.

Aguero has previous in La Liga, having made his name at Atletico Madrid, where he played at from 2006 to 2011.

However, he has previously stated his desire to return to Independiente in his native Argentina.
